40 years in prison. Most of that time on Ohio's Death Row. In 2014, Mr. Tyler's sentence was commuted!  While former Governor Kasich granted clemency for Arthur Tyler, he did not initially follow the unanimous recommendation of the Parole Board that Mr. Tyler should receive parole eligibility. Arthur Tyler is serving a life sentence with the possibility of parole. Despite grave doubt, serious unfairness associated with his case, and a positive use of his time incarcerated, Arthur was denied parole. He is a former Death Row inmate and has had quite a journey. He and his many supporters believe he should be free.
